South East Governors' Forum (SEGF) has rejected the police report which indicated that the security incident at the residence of the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, was a burglary and not an assassination attempt.

The governors of the South East geopolitical zone of the country yesterday carried out a sensitisation programme on the need for government officials to be accessible, transparent and accountable on issues bordering on finance and expenditure of government at all times.

The governors noted that the unfortunate aspect of the 2017 federal capital budget implementation thrust was the inequitable nature of the focal sectors that should drive the achievement of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) in the zone.
