Governors of the South East have been commended for adopting the finest principles of governance through embracing the Open Government Partnership (OGP).
At a two day sensitization seminar on OGP, held in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, the Reform Manager, South East, of the Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL) and the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), Ucheoma Egwuatu, Friday, lauded the SEGF on the commencement of initiative and for being proactive.

The governors of the South East geopolitical zone of the country yesterday carried out a sensitisation programme on the need for government officials to be accessible, transparent and accountable on issues bordering on finance and expenditure of government at all times.

The South East Governors’ Forum (SEGF) has flayed the Federal Government for poor and sectional implementation of capital projects in 2017 Appropriation Act.

The governors noted that the unfortunate aspect of the 2017 federal capital budget implementation thrust was the inequitable nature of the focal sectors that should drive the achievement of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) in the zone.
