About SEGF

The South East Governors’ Forum (SEGF) is a platform that offers the various Governors of the Southeast region, opportunity to pool ideas and resources together in order to confront common socio-economic challenges and undertake projects that uplift the wellbeing of the people of the region.

While the Forum does not interfere with the independence of each state as provided by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it offers the collaborating states huge opportunities for peer learning and synergistic pursuit of political and socio-economic issues that have regional resonance. The issues to be discussed by the Forum will continue to evolve.
They will include but are not limited to:

Socio-Economic: Issues that bother on production, distribution and exchange;
Security: Maintenance of law and order and safe custody of people and property;
Infrastructure: Provision of capital goods that will accelerate productive activities.

The secretariat is the technical and administrative arm of the SEGF. The SEGF secretariat is made up of professionals that provide support for the day to day running of the Forum. It oversees the daily operations of the SEGF and effectively engages partners and stakeholders.

The secretariat is also a resource centre that provides reliable and current information in relevant areas of policy making, as well as source funds for the implementation of identified regional projects for the Forum.
The secretariat works with partners and platforms to develop the blueprint for regional integration.
